Sid Thoo – eco-effective architect, educator, consultant.

Sid Thoo RAIA is an architect and educator with a passion for designing more sustainable buildings. He studied architecture at the University of Western Australia and graduated with Honours. He was a co-founder and director of architecture.collective from 2008-2012.

In addition to his architectural projects, Sid also gives regular presentations and training on eco-effective building design, and is a sought-after public speaker. He has presented all over the country for the BIM Day Out, Australian Institute of Building Surveyors, Revit Technology Conference, Perth Sun Fair, Association of Building Sustainability Assessors, the Australian Institute of Architects and the Building Designers Association.

He is a NatHERS accredited assessor, and a member of the Australian Institute of Architects.

Sid lectures at a number of Australian universities and colleges, and is currently an adjunct lecturer in the Faculty of Architecture Landscape and Visual Arts at the University of Western Australia.

From 2013-2014, Sid Thoo served as the Chair of the Association of Building Sustainability Assessors.

Colin Henley

mugshot NYCColin has 10 years industry experience working both in Australia and overseas. His broad range of experience has been primarily based in the residential sector, including numerous single- / multi-residential and renovation projects throughout Western Australia and involvement in the design and documentation of a number of commercial, civic, educational and aged-care projects in both Australia and Scotland.

He is passionate about sustainability and has experience working as a Building Sustainability Assessor with ABSA as well as on projects aiming for GBCA GreenStar certification. He has greatly valued the opportunities he has had to work with Architectural Design students in his sessional tutoring roles at both Curtin University and the University of Western Australia and has sought to broaden his own understanding of the built environment via Postgraduate Studies at Murdoch University in the fields of energy studies, climate science and urban design.
